Who We Are

Nitrus Anti-Ransomware is developed by Northwind Data Recovery, a data recovery lab operating since 2003 with strong international recognition for its expertise in complex data recovery cases.

Northwind specializes in advanced data recovery and has extensive experience handling cases involving ransomware, storage failures, and data loss incidents across both individual and business environments.

Since 2016, Northwind has been a member of the No More Ransom Project.
This international initiative, led by the High Tech Crime Unit of the Dutch Police, the European Cybercrime Centre (Europol), and cybersecurity companies such as Kaspersky and McAfee, focuses on helping victims recover data without paying ransom demands.
Through this collaboration, Northwind has contributed to solutions for multiple ransomware families.

The development of Nitrus Anti-Ransomware was driven by real-world cases: an increasing number of ransomware attacks and a growing need for reliable data recovery after ransomware incidents.

The concept behind Nitrus was first introduced in 2021. Its development required extensive testing, refinement, and validation, with the core system completed in 2024.

Before release, the software underwent multiple iterations and was tested extensively under real-world conditions to ensure reliability and stability.
